In my personal opinion, the Tineco Floor One S7 Pro Smart Wet Dry Vacuum proves that if there’s one thing better than a cordless stick vacuum, it’s a cordless stick vacuum plus mop. This piece of tech makes it easy to vacuum and mop floors simultaneously—and after it cleans the floors, it even cleans itself.

While cordless wet-dry vacuum cleaners are increasing in popularity, they’re not all created equal. With that in mind, I put the Tineco Floor One S7 Pro to the test to see how it compares. Spoiler alert: I love it! It’s like vacuuming for dummies, and takes all of the guesswork out of the process. From the interactive tutorial on the LCD screen to the voice prompts to the self-propelling motion to the self-cleaning feature, cleaning hard floors has never been easier.

Pros

Cons

In addition to the Tineco Floor One S7 Pro, the following items are also included:

I’ve tested several wet-dry vacuum cleaners, and the Tineco Floor One S7 Pro is by far one of the easiest floor cleaners to use for several reasons. Wet-dry cordless stick vacuums tend to be a little heavier than regular cordless stick vacuums (for example, the Tineco Floor One S7 Pro weighs 21 pounds compared to the recently-tested Samsung Bespoke Jet Vacuum, which only weighs six pounds).

However, this extra weight is necessary for the two water tanks (one for clean water and one for dirty water), as well as the heavier brush roller mechanism and wheels. With some wet-dry vacuums, I can feel this extra weight. However, the Tineco Floor One S7 PRO uses a SmoothPower self-propulsion system, which makes it almost feel like the vacuum cleaner is moving on its own—whether I’m pushing it forward or pulling it backward.

Since the vacuum cleaner uses Tineco iLoop smart sensor technology, it can automatically detect the level of debris on the floor and adjust suction power accordingly. It can also adjust the speed of the brush roller, as well as the amount of water being dispensed. This smart feature helps me clean more efficiently. There are four modes on the One S7 Pro:

The simple controls include an Exit button, Select button, and Confirm button, in addition to an exclamation mark (!) to access the Tineco assistant. The Tineco assistant is an animated tutorial that displays on the LCD screen and includes interactive instructions for the quick start guide, as well as visual assistance for maintenance, Wi-Fi connection, handle disassembly, and customer service.

The assistant also includes audible assistance, meaning the machine will voice the text on the screen, such as “Please place appliance on the charging base to begin self-cleaning.” These voice prompts can be turned on and off, but I thoroughly enjoyed the combination of onscreen visuals and voice prompts to inform me when the dirty water tank was full, the clean water tank was empty, and more.

(Note: You can download the Tineco app to perform all of the functions that are on the control button. However, I didn’t think this was necessary.)

Setup was as simple as unboxing the machine and inserting the handle into the body of the vacuum cleaner until I heard a click. Then, I charged the vacuum before testing commenced.

While I didn't stand around and watch the vacuum charge, when I checked about five hours later, it was fully charged.

The first step was refilling the fresh water tank to the max line. For deep cleaning, one bottle cap of the solution should be added to the water, but it’s not necessary for routine cleaning. I added a cap to be sure. Then I selected the auto mode, and started cleaning.

The Tineco Floor One S7 doesn’t get floors sopping wet, which is important. It dispenses water very efficiently, and this allows the floors to dry quickly and cleanly. That’s because, with the water flow system, fresh water is evenly dispersed over the brush roller. The floating scraper squeezes dirty water out of the roller, and that water is then sucked into the dirty water tank.

I especially like the vacuum’s safety mechanism—it only operates when reclining. It’s also self-propelling, and sometimes felt like I was trying to keep up with the vacuum instead of the other way around. The ergonomic handle also made it easy to maneuver.

Since wet-dry vacuums tend to be bulkier, one problem I’ve encountered is the inability to vacuum and mop under my kitchen and bathroom cabinets. However, the low profile of the Tineco’s brush roller is designed to fit underneath them, so I can vacuum sideways for a thorough clean. The vacuum can also clean right up against baseboards thanks to its dual-sided edge cleaning, which is an added bonus.

The LCD screen also shows the remaining battery life, cleaning mode, dirty monitoring loop, and the levels in the clean water tank.

Having two water tanks (one for clean water, one for dirty water) has become a necessity—and thankfully, most of the wet-dry cordless stick vacuums have this feature. I never had to stop to empty the 24-ounce dirty water tank or fill the clean water tank (but depending on the size of your home and the level of dirt on your floors, you might need to stop at least once).

I was usually in auto mode, but occasionally I switched to Max mode to spray the water/solution to pre-wet stubborn debris. I also switched to the Ultra mode, which utilizes electrolyzed water (Tineco didn’t really explain how this works, but I did notice a slight difference with this feature when tackling stubborn debris.) I also used the Suction mode to remove water from the floor. Keep in mind that runtime is 40 minutes for Auto/Ultra and Suction modes, but only 28 minutes in Max mode.

The vacuum also passes the leak test. With a tank full of dirty water, I was able to pick up the vacuum and carry it down 17 stairs so I could mop the landing area, and not a drop of water landed on the carpeted stairs.

One of the best parts of the Tineco Floor One S7 (besides that fact that it cleans so well), is the vacuum’s ability to clean itself. After I finished cleaning the floor, I emptied the dirty water tank and rinsed it, along with the dry filter, under running water.

As soon as I pressed the power button, the interactive quick start guide came up and guided me through the cleaning process.

Then, per instructions, I checked to make sure the water level in the clean water tank was over 40%, placed the vacuum on the charging base, and pressed the self-cleaning button while it was recharging. There’s an option to choose quick self-cleaning (which only takes two minutes) or super self-cleaning (which takes a whopping six minutes). I chose the latter.

Then I rinsed the brush roller and brush roller cover with water, and used the cleaning tool to remove the minimal pet hair and debris from the brush roller and brush roller chamber. Finally I placed the brush roller in the accessory holder so it could dry.

The Tineco Floor One S7 Pro is an excellent—albeit, expensive—way to easily clean hard floors. The smart stick handheld vacuum is almost foolproof since it provides easy-to-read animated screen assistance and voice prompts. The machine is also easy to operate and practically drives itself.

Another helpful feature is the headlight on the front of the roller brush. It does an excellent job of revealing hidden debris on the floor.

The roller brush light, which illuminates debris, and edge cleaning are two bonus features not found on every wet-dry vacuum. And the ability for a vacuum to clean thoroughly and then clean itself cannot be understated.

However, for the price, it’s also worth taking a look at the Eufy Mach V1 Ultra Wet Dry Vacuum, which has most of the same features, in addition to a steam clean function, and self-drying mop function. Plus, it’s currently $100 cheaper. But, honestly, you can’t go wrong with either.
